We visited on a super busy Saturday night with a wait over an hour, but it truly was worth it. I've been to the Hudson location once but can definitely say that Argento's has stepped up their game, BIG TIME, with this move. I found the old location to be "shabby" and this new restaurant is pretty and elegant. We were ridiculously ravenous by the time we got seated---ordered Calamari appetizer that was HUGE, plenty for our party of 5 and perfectly breaded and not one bit chewy. The breadsticks (more like round, garlicy, buttery orbs) were delicious when bathed in the fresh marinara that our waiter had the foresight to bring over two bowls of. Really, the marinara was outstanding, just about the best I have ever had. The waiter also suggested several of the specials off the "2 for $22" menu-those portion were huge and more than adequate with either soup or salad. Our group had the manicotti and Shrimp Fra Diablo, both of which were delicious. The home-made chicken noodle soup was great, but the side salads definitely left a lot to be desired with just plain ice-berg lettuce and not much else--so opt for the soup if you can. I had the baked and breaded chicken dish with the fried eggplant on top, thinly sliced--and at $16.95, WELL worth the price as I had enough leftover for another meal. For our party of 5, we had two alcoholic drinks and four desserts and STILL got out of here for less than $100, which I thought was great. The desserts all LOOK very good, but none were standouts--we had the Napoleon, cannoli and raspberry cheesecake--I'd be interested in trying others on future visits. Beware: they don't take reservations for parties under 8 & they were just jammin'--recommend you get there BEFORE 5 or after 8. There is a Carabba's right next door that will probably be out of business within a year--or maybe they will benefit from the spillover of diners not wanting to wait. Excellent!

This place has the best tomato sauce we have had in years. Being Italian American I have to say it is better than our homemade. We even drove to Hudson to there old location from Clearwater. Try them you won't be sorry.

This review is based on the new Argento's location in New Port Richey, not their old location in Hudson. This is our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. We eat there very, very often, whether eating in or taking out. They serve delicious food. Delicioso. The new restaurant is very spacious, very clean and very well staffed. There is usually always a bit of a wait on the weekends, so be prepared to wait for just a little bit. In the interim, peruse their fresh baked goods in the display case at the front of the restaurant. Their bakery is simply delicious, filled with all sorts of fresh baked Italian pastries and old favorites like Neopolitan, Tiramisu, Cannolis, etc. They have delicious cookies and cakes. I am a sucker for their butter cookies with the big chocolate chips in it. I could easily eat a pound of them in a single sitting. The bakery is a little expensive, but it is quality bakery goods that are worth every penny. The appetizers are large enough to be entrees. They have fresh Bruschetta, a beautiful caprese, delicious calamari which is not rubbery like it is at many other places. They have a wide choice of soups and ensalada, nice fresh antipasto and rich, filling soups. They make a chicken noodle soup, Italian style, that would make a Jewish Grandmother blush (Hey! I'm a Jewish Grandmother! My chicken soup tastes nothing like this!). They have delicious bread sticks that they give you while waiting for your entree that comes with a warm marinara sauce. As entrees go, they have a wide variety of pasta dishes, meat dishes, chicken dishes, nice fish dinners, etc. I am a fool for their mussels marinara while my husband loves their chicken dish with pasta that includes a white wine and oil sauce. The entree's are definitely big enough to share, but why share, when you can take your leftovers home and nom on them the next day! The desserts come from the bakery and they are all simply decadent and luscious. We absolutely love everything about this restaurant, including the staff and the owners. The average bill for a party of two is about $60 or so, nothing ludicrous. I held my husbands 40th birthday party in their back room which they use for dining but reserve for catering parties as well. We had 20 people with an open bar and everyone ordered a meal. The bill came to $500 which is extremely reasonable for that many people all eating full meals and ordering the occasional glass of wine. All the staff was very attentive. I also took my mom, who hates EVERYTHING that is not New York here and she actually had NO complaints. NONE. If you find yourself looking for great Italian food in Port Richey, definitely stop at Argento's and you will be very content with your choice.

This was the second time we have eaten here. We were fortunate enough to have Mike as our waiter both times. The food and service is excellent. Portion sizes; well let's just say 3 guest 3 boxes to take home. Coming from an Italian background I would recommend this restaurant to anyone; Wether it be a romantic night out or family gathering. Thanks again Mike for the excellent service!

After some time we decided to come back, take our senior parent for Manicotti (her fav) and it was delicious. Wife ordered chicken parmeson - delicious. I ordered spaghetti with red clams - only got 2 fresh clams but an abundance of canned clams in the dish - taste was superb. Our waiter was very informative, polite. Glad we gave it another chance. Bakery was fun to shop - some of the best tasting cookies & pastries around & Sal who was at the bakery counter was very pleasant and made us smile.

Portions were very large, prices were good (compared to laces like Olive Garden), and the food was very good. Very home style. Mixed drinks were a tad expensive, but they don't skimp on alcohol. Howe the dessert case wasn't very good the tiramisu was dry (like the lady fingers weren't soaked adequately) and the cannoli was too hard to bite into (ended up just eating the filling.

My mother and I came here because we were in the area. The atmosphere is nice and clean. It sort of has that "chain" vibe, but it isn't a chain. The wait staff was upbeat and friendly. They have a diverse menu and the prices are excellent! I had the shrimp fra diablo and my mother had the chicken Marsala. They were having a dinner special "2 for $21.95." Came with bread and soup and/or salad. Absolutely fantastic!! Everything was fresh. They also make their own baked goods. We couldn't resist taking home a piece of death-by-chocolate cake to share. Will definitely be back next time I visit my mother!!

This place did not live up to the hype. It had so much potential and looked great walking in but it was such a disappointment. I ordered the chicken marsala which was very bland. The chicken was not browned, mushrooms were rubbery, and overall, the dish was not seasoned. My boyfriend had the manicotti which was overcooked and lacking flavor. For dessert, we tried the cannoli and the tiramisu. Wasn't bad but definitely wasn't as good as you'd expect from an Italian bakery. I'm originally from NY so I know my Italian food and this isn't it. There are many more Italian restaurants in the area that are more authentic and serve better tasting food. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was nice but food was just plain boring.

Was here a few months ago with a guy friend, Had a fab meal and fab time! Will return over and over. Had to initially wait a bit at the bar, because the place was packed but once seated were treated like royalty and service didn't miss a beat! Loved IT!!! Loved the food, Loved the Service! Bravo!

Food was a bit expensive for lunch but service and meal portions make the price appropriate. Atmosphere great and dessert counter is dangerous. Have yet to try it out. Would definitely recommend for a casual lunch of you are in the area.

Delicious food. Nice size salad, garlic rolls, shrimp fra diablo with plenty of heat & great sauce. Sat at the bar. Friendly, nice staff. Went here because a bunch of friends also raved about it. Have sent more friends there and they loved it too.

At first I thought the prices were a little high but the portions were enormous. My husband ordered the sausage roll and said it was great. I ordered chicken parm, it was delicious and still had a full to go box. My dinner included a salad and yummy garlic rolls. Have never been but im glad we stopped and will be back, especially for dessert

Great food and even greater service from the staff. This place is an amazing Italian restaurant you must go to. The bakery has an amazing set of various baked goods. You won't regret it if you come here.

I wish I could give this restaurant 2-1/2 stars. I was kind of disappointed. My husband had the house dressing which he said tasted like pure vinegar. Maybe they forgot to add the "ette" to Balsamic Vinegarette? His entree was Shrimp Fra Diablo. He had to literally dig around in the red sauce to remove the tails from the shrimp! The bleu cheese salad dressing was rather bland. The couple we were with (one of them Italian descent) had the lasagna which they both said made them want to go home and make some themselves. All of our meals were on the "2 for $21.95" menu so we forgave the lack of enthusiasm from the kitchen. All in all I'd have to say it was just average.

I cannot believe that Argentos is not on the news for being the best Italian restaurant in the whole Tampa area. I cannot give enough praise to them. Real Italians in the kitchen. Real italian waiters and waitress. You feel like your in Italy. But the best is the food, I'm Italian and could not find Italian restaurant this wonderful. When you walk it has a Italian bakery right there. Your crazy if you don't try this one. The price very reasonable and the service is fantistic. Thank you Argentos. Leonard Solicito

This Evening included My husband, Son, Sister one of My Nephews and My Niece. We arrived and walked into a absolutely beautiful atmosphere. Fresh baked Italian cookies on display, then we were seated at a lovely glass top table in a very cozy, clean and well lite dining room. Our waitress Sara C was a beautiful woman who was quick on her feet and very sweet. Our appetizer was the Bruschette bread topped with tomatoes, red onion, fresh mozzarella and drizzled in olive oil. Kids are usually picky, not tonight, the gobbled it right up, surprisingly. My sister and I ordered salads which were huge, filling, fresh and delicious. Husband had chicken noodle soup that he said tasted homemade and perfect. Dinner was chicken tenders, fries and personal pizza for the kids. Sis and I had the Mannicoti, husband the Baked Ziti, all presented with a basket of wonderful fresh bread sticks that came with marinara sauce for dipping. The table was silent with an occasional, Wow this is great! With full bellies and a treated night out. Special bucks well spent at this Very Authentic Italian Restaurant. Be sure to head there ASAP!! You will never be disappointed! Mangiare Deliziosi!

I've been to the old location, and the food was good. The new location is beautiful in comparison, but the food wasn't edible. The chicken was boiled not baked, flavorless, and had a very salty wine flavor. I told the waitress that it was not edible. She apologized and boxed it up to go. Once home I tried to doctor it up without success. My boyfriend had the lasagna. It was extremely watery and without firmness. Maybe Mother's Day was too busy in the kitchen. Very disappointing

Just arrived in town, tired and a little hungry Service was tremendous. Friendly folks starting at the front door. Lots of wait staff to help guests Had the wedding soup Delicious, so delish that they ran out before I could get another cup I did manage to visit the pastry case on my way out. Delicate lace cookies were buttery. I didnt care for the mini eclair, the chocolate tasted waxy See you tomorrow!

Walking in looks great! Staff, professional and nice! Nice inviting design, we were VERY excited. Mussels, I love mussels, the sauce (butter and garlic) was real good, but the mussels tasted like precooked. Wedding soup... really not good, seriously greasy and tasteless. - Cesar salad.. dressing in a plastic cup.. I guess. Lasagna was o.k. My mom is Italian, I get spoiled I guess. Clams with a watery chicken like tasting broth and a few soso Cannolis later we were on our way. 4 stars for the looks 4 stars for the employees 2 for the food (since the mussel sauce and bread were really awesome or it would be seriously a 1 and I HATE doing that cause I adore good restaurants...

I was impressed visually when I entered Argento's on Saturday and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Bang Bang Calamari, it was so-so. The alfredo sauce we ordered with our bread sticks was watered down and very thin in consistency. Although the salads were fresh, the house dressing was very bland. It took over an hour for our entrees to arrive at the table and was sub-par to say the least. I am sad to say that Argento's was a disappointment and I won't be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
